Common questions
Repair or replace?
It depends on the age of the unit and what has failed. Elements, thermostats and valves are routine repairs and often worth doing. But once a tank itself is leaking, it is replacement. A corroded cylinder cannot be patched. We will tell you which one you are looking at before any work starts.
How long does a hot water system last?
Most storage units give you somewhere around eight to twelve years, though water quality and whether the sacrificial anode was ever replaced make a real difference. If yours is past ten and starting to misbehave, it is worth planning a replacement rather than waiting for it to fail on a weekend.
